Welcome to Seahouses and Farne Explorers

Seahouses and Farnes Explorers is a snorkeling, swimming and sea watching club based in Seahouses.

Club membership is FREE 

our members are encouraged to join the British sub aqua club (BSAC) as either a snorkeling member (around £25 per year) which includes snorkeling  insurance and a snorkeling manual or as full diving members for those wishing to SCUBA dive with us.

BSAC membership is optional and non BSAC members can still enjoy all of the benefits club membership including use of our fully equipped  boat and skipper for snorkeling and seawatching adventures, equipment hire for snorkeling and diving and use of the club binoculars and scopes for seawatch activities

Membership is open to adults and children but under 16's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

The club has a fully equipped 6 meter RIB boat complete with an experienced farne island skipper which is capable of taking groups of 6 swimmers, snorkelers or sea watchers out to the Farne islands and up and down the coast.

The boat is available to club members only and there is a charge of £30pp to cover the cost of transporting, launching and fueling the boat.*

The farne islands offer several unique snorkeling opportunities including swimming with seals, observing puffins as they dive down to incredible depths underwater as well as observing the marine life in waters that can be incredibly clear in the summer months.

snorkeling lessons are a major part of club membership and will be available every saturday throughout the season, there is a charge of £25 for members requiring equipment hire and £20 for members using their own equipment.*

Snorkeling expeditions for members will be available weekly at various sites up and down the Northumberland coast.

There is a charge of £30 for members requiring equipment hire and £20 for members using their own equipment for shore based expeditions, for equipment hire for expeditions by boat there is a further £30 pp fee.*

For those who would rather stay dry the club also offers sea watching both from the mainland and from the boat, life jackets and dryrobes are always available while out on the boat and the club has a good selection of binoculars for use by club members.

Sea swimming has become very popular over recent years and the club will be swimming most evenings through the season, sea swimming is completely free to members, wetsuit hire is available if required and members are encouraged  to take charge of cake, hot drinks and beach BBQ's

​​

We use the coast for our pleasure and in return we do our part to keep the coastline tidy, club beach cleans will be organized regularly though the season, they can be great social events and are another good reason to break out the cake!! 

​​

For the more adventurous members there is also the opportunity to learn how to scuba dive, the cost is £60 per lesson which includes equipment hire and a donation to the club funds.

*Fees for club training,equipment hire,boat trips contribute to the cost of running of the club.
